Beakus is an animation and motion design studio founded by experienced producer/director Steve Smith. Based in Lewes, near Brighton (UK), Beakus is a member of Animation UK.
Since 2010 we’ve crafted beautiful, compelling, and powerful animation for a wide range of clients that include NGO's, brands, broadcasters, and start-ups. Our work has won awards and been featured at animation festivals.
We are also a kids TV series IP generator having three full series in our folio - Olobob Top, Yakka Dee!, Big Lizard.
Beakus also co-produces and provides service work for other producers and broadcasters.

What we do
We design, direct and produce animation in all it's forms.
We like to get stuck in and collaborate with you at an early stage, contributing to ideas, scripts, and visual development. And we can also provide sound design, music and voice through our partners.
Commercials
We provide animation services, direction and production of high quality animation in support of agencies or brands, whether for a broadcast or digital audience.

Beakus creates it's own TV series for children as well as collaborating with live-action production houses, global animation studios and broadcasters, on their series.

Motion Design
We provide animation production of explainer videos and films for online or in-gallery distribution. Our work has been seen many thousands of times on Vimeo and YouTube and we treat explainers as we would short films - with a great deal of care and style!

Shorts
Much of our work is short-form, whether corporate, commercial, or simply creative. We create our own short films whenever possible and have been awarded at festivals right around the world. We just love filmmaking!
