Leigh Hodgkinson

Leigh Hodgkinson is an experienced director, animator and children’s book author and illustrator. She fuses a hand-made aesthetic with cut-out multimedia to create texturous, colourful worlds populated by bizarre characters.

Her animation work has been screened all over the globe in film festivals, and has been garlanded many times. Her films include Moo(n)Stalk and Flighty. Leigh won a BAFTA for Newsround – Danielle’s Story, an Annecy Crystal for Fonejacker, and a British Animation Award for her National Film & Television School film Novelty.

Leigh is a prolific artist, and her published picture books include Colin & The Snoozebox, Smile!Limelight Larry and Goldilocks and Just the One Bear. She has twice been nominated for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize.
